![]() ![]() It’s a hot spot at South End and we can see why. Overall, we enjoyed our brunch at Barcelona Wine Bar. The steak and sausage were quite nice, whereas the chicken and pork shop were nothing special. The picture doesn’t quite do the justice, because the portion is actually fairly large. We also ordered a plate of Mixed Grill with NY Strip Steak, Chicken, Gaucho Sausage Pork Chop. The rice was neither too dry or too mushy, and tasted really yummy. This is the highlight of the meal! The 2 orders of seafood paella was huge indeed, with a generous amount of seafood. It was dry and flavorful, and the portion was more satisfying than the previous two dishes. We opted for the Jamón Serrano (Dry-Cured Spanish Ham). The Spicy Eggplant Caponata was of quite small portion, but it was seasoned very well, which actually reminded me of some good mezze we had while in Turkey.īeing at a Spanish restaurant, you can’t pass on the Spanish ham. We had C rostini with Corn and Avocado, which only included 2 toasts, although the taste was really good and fresh. ![]() The tapas were relatively small in portion. We were definitely more interested in the Spanish fares, so we went ahead to order 3 tapas, a mixed grilled plate, and 2 orders of seafood paella. ![]() The brunch menu offers standard fares like French toast and omelette, as well as tapas and paella. I finally got a chance to try it out with several friends for Sunday brunch. Despite being a “chain”, the reviews have been pretty good. The first Barcelona Wine bar in Boston opened in Brookline, and a year ago they opened another one in South End. There aren’t too many Spanish food places in Boston, and while Toro is definitely good by consensus, it is always so packed and doesn’t take reservations. Since I moved into South End a couple of months ago, one of top restaurants on my list to try was Barcelona Wine Bar. ![]()
